First Time Consignor FAQ

  • HOW DO I BRING MY ITEMS TO SECONDI FOR THE FIRST TIME?
    • * First consignments are only by appointment, we do not accept walk-ins.
    • * First step is to email us photos of a few (5 max) of your items, and then we will let you know if we think we will be successful selling them for you and help you schedule an appointment.  Please send 1 photo per item, no more than 5 items (we’re only looking for a glimpse, you can bring more when you come)
    • * Please show one item per photo, and please embed or attach them.  For security reasons we won’t open shared files or click links. Please be sure to include a subject in the subject line so we don’t mistake your email for spam.
    • * There will be no available appointments in August. This is so we can prepare the shop for fall.

  • WHAT DOES SECONDI ACCEPT FOR CONSIGNMENT?
    • * What we accept is determined by our current inventory.  Please email photos of any items you are unsure about.
    • * Scroll down to Label Guidelines for information on brands we love and seasonal requirements.
    • * We review a maximum of 20 items for each fall/winter consignment, 30 items for spring/summer consignments. Please bring no more than 10 jewelry items at a time.
    • * Items must be clean, wrinkle-free, and odor-free, and we prefer clothing be on hangers. If not, they should be neatly folded in a structured bag.
    • * Items must be in season, in style, in excellent condition, and no older than 2 years.
    • * Please bring any authenticity cards, tags, dust bags, etc. when consigning Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc. They aren’t required but help encourage sales.
    • * We only accept swimwear or lingerie that is new with tags still attached.
    • * Do not bring items that have been stored with or near mothballs, smoke, or other strong odors. We will refuse to review them.

  • HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
    • * Once your items sell you will receive 50% of the selling price.  
    • * You can redeem your earnings as store credit or request to be paid by check.  We can mail your check to you or you can pick it up in the store, simply call us ahead of time and we will let you know when your check will be ready.  

  • CAN I RETRIEVE UNSOLD ITEMS FROM SECONDI?
    • * Secondi does not return items once they are consigned. If an item hasn’t sold by the end of its designated selling period, or if after accepting it we discover it is soiled, damaged, or defective in any way, it is donated to local charities on the consignor’s behalf.  
    • * We provide tax forms upon request after the end of the year. 
    • * Exceptions to this policy can be made for select high-end items. Please contact us for more information.

  • I’VE CONSIGNED WITH SECONDI BEFORE AND I HAVE AN ACCOUNT.  DO I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO CONSIGN MORE ITEMS?
    • * If you have consigned with us before and have an account with us, and wish to do a Drop-Off instead of making an appointment, please scroll down to Drop-Off Procedure to learn more.
    • * We have scheduled all of our summer appointments. Previous consignors can still consign summer by Drop-Off.
    • *If you have a question about an item, please feel free to email us a photo. You can email photos of up 5 items for advance feedback. We can’t guarantee we will take an item until we see it in person.


DROP OFF PROCEDURE

Once you’ve consigned with us by appointment, you may drop off your items at your convenience!  If you haven’t consigned with Secondi before please schedule an appointment and review our FIRST TIME CONSIGNOR FAQ above.

How it works:

  • * Bring your items during Secondi hours (please not at opening or closing times. Please allow for time to list your items if you need to fill out the form here at Secondi).
  • * Complete and sign the Drop-Off Form (downloadable below), or fill it out at Secondi.
    • If you have multiple groups of items (i.e. 1 bag of items and 1 set of hanging items, or 2 separate bags of items, etc.) list each group separately. We will be able to review your items more quickly and efficiently this way!
  • * Leave your consignment with us and we will review it within a 2-9 days. We’ll email you a list of what we accepted, the prices, and what was donated.
    • If your consignment has multiple groups we may review it in stages
  • * Please refer to “What We Accept for Consignment” section above, and our Label Guidelines section for the season we are accepting. Feel free to email photos of up to 5 items before you bring them in. Please attach/embed them, for security reasons we are unable to click links or download shared files.

We are unable to review your drop-off with you in person when you bring it in, and we are unable to return items once they have been dropped off. Please schedule an appointment if you want to keep items we don’t take.  

There will be no appointments available in August. This is so we can prepare the shop for fall. But we will still be accepting drop-offs from previous consignors.

Any consignment that is mailed in will be considered a drop-off and reviewed as such.


CURRENT CONSIGNORS

Check your Secondi account balance online below!  Your default username and password will be the email address Secondi has on file for you.  If you have any technical issues please contact us.

Donation Records: we provide, by request, yearly donation tallies after the end of each year. Please request this year’s donation form after December 31st.
